How does Central encourage authentic faith growth with Youth?
Supportive Peer Groups
Young people today want to know that they are not alone in their search for a meaningful life. In a safe environment we seek to provide a shelter that is supported with worship, prayer, sharing and play. Here youth are invited to be their authentic selves and find the respect that they deserve as blessed children of God.
Transformative Experiences
Whenever the youth leave the church grounds for a retreat or worktrip the objective is an adventure that will be life changing. Through hard work, interaction with different cultures, or inner examination the youth are offered the opportunity to grow in their spiritual practices, decision making skills and trust building.
Thoughtful study
We encourage a faith that is developed through critical discovery. We know that the transition from adolescent to young adult is difficult as youth differentiate from their families. We provide a supportive space for seekers to challenge unexamined norms and to think for themselves providing them with a vocabulary of faith as they discover what they believe and who God has called them to be.
Youth Program Ministries
CYF
This group is for High School age young people who are seeking to deepen their faith and develop genuine friendships. Our CYF meets on Sunday Evenings from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. in our Youth Center (see calendar for specific dates).
Chi-Rho
Our Chi-Rho groups is comprised of middle school age youth who are looking to set strong foundations for their faith in a high energy and hands on environment. This groups meets on Sundays from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. in our Youth Center (see calendar for specific dates).
Central’s ministry with youth strives to create a safe place where all young people can find the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. Programs stress faith discovery and formation in the context of daily life.

Hazard/Perry Housing Development Alliance
Hazard, KY
We will be working on construction, improvement or demolition on homes in the surrounding counties. We will be staying at First Christian Church (DOC) Hazard, making our own meals and showering at the county parks and recreation center. Campbell Stone Christian Community
Atlanta, GA
This will be Central’s 4th trip to this HUD & DOC supported retirement community. We will be staying at Sandy Springs Christian Church (DOC). While there we will work with the residents in a variety ways. Groups will help with routine chores in rooms, lead community activities and work outside in their gardens.
