Stephen Ministry

Stephen ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

Stephen ministry caregivers have received 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spiritual care and commit to attend twice monthly peer supervision meetings in addition to their meeting with a care-receiver.

Stephen ministry care-receivers are individuals who have requested the ministry of a Christian friend who listens, cares, prays, supports and encourages. Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry: The identity of those receiving care and what takes place in each caring relationship remains private. To discuss referral to a Stephen minister or inquire about training for Stephen ministry, contact Lois Kash, 381-8281, or Jan Ehrmantraut, Minister of Pastoral Care, 233-1551.
