Extending Christian Hospitality

Central Christian Church is a progressive congregation affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).   We extend Christian hospitality to all who want to grow in their relationship with God.   We invite all who seek to follow Jesus of Nazareth to participate with us in the ministries and services of the church, including the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

Central has deep roots in the heart of Lexington.   Founded in 1816, Central continues to be a vital and growing congregation.   Parking on Sunday morning is also available in the Chase Bank garage. On April 19, 2009 we dedicated our new and renovated facilities which includes - The Children's Center, Youth Center, Adult Center, Fellowship Center, Welcome Center and Hospitality Center. Now, all buildings on our four-acre campus are handicap accessable. Parking is available in our lot each day of the week with entrances off Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Corral Street and East Short Street.

Worship is central to our community life.   The sanctuary is an awesome setting surrounding us with symbols of the faith.   Our music, liturgy and preaching lead us on a spiritual journey and inspire us to live faithfully in the world.

Educational opportunities for children, youth and adults are signals that we seek faith with understanding. We integrate the historic faith of the church with life experiences and knowledge.

Central is known for the many services our congregation provides for those in need in the Lexington community in addition to our Christian witness around the world.
