Adult Education Opportunities

The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) values an informed approach to scripture and our faith. We believe that our faith is strengthened for our journey of life when we understand the Bible, know our tradition, and learn from human experience. We believe that an informed faith can equip us to apply our Christian beliefs and ethics to our everyday lives. Accordingly, we strive to offer opportunities that reaches people where they are on their journey of faith.

Listed are some opportunities offered by Central to help you along the journey:

Teaching and Equipping Adults for Ministry (TEAM)

TEAM Classes are courses designed to delve deeply into questions of faith. They are taught by people with specialized training in the fields they teach. The classes are in the areas of Ethics, Bible, Church History and Theology. The classes usually meet for either 10 weeks on Tuesday evenings or on a Saturday. All members and friends of Central are invited.

ChristCare Groups

ChristCare is a small group ministry (8-12 people). Each group meets regularly for study, fellowship, worship and service. The groups are wonderful opportunities to deepen our faith in Christian Community. All groups are open and eager to welcome new persons.

Salt and Pepper Groups

(Annually beginning in Late Spring)
Salt & Pepper Fellowship Groups offer a chance for new and older members to get to know one another over a series of four dinners in the homes of various members. New groups form each year near the time of Pentecost.

Lenten Study

Each year during the Season of Lent we gather on Wednesday evenings for study and worship. We do this knowing that we are called to study and reflect during this holy season.

This year the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) partners with the United Church of Christ to support missionaries around the world.  This Lenten season you have the opportunity to meet and interact with some of the missionaries in the field.  come enjoy a bowl of soup and then, via the internet, connect with our missionaries.  This will be a unique lenten opportunity to learn and reflect on our faith as well as a time for fellowship.  For further questions or concerns, please contact Stephanie McCormick at smccormick@insightbb.com or at 233-1551.
